Shannon’s involvement as a founding member of Impact Dyslexia is rooted in personal experience; both Shannon’s father and two sons have dyslexia. Their shared struggles nearly 50 years apart were proof enough for Shannon that access to diagnosis, treatment and social emotional support for dyslexics had not progressed in cadence with other advancements in education, research, and legislation.
Shannon is a seasoned attorney, public affairs expert, and trusted advisor in Meroney Public Affairs with her husband Mike, in Austin, Texas. Her expertise in legislation, regulation, advocacy, grassroots activation, and coalition building have given her a stellar reputation among peers.
